2-1-14 Children of God

Although we came from parents in the flesh

In truth we are creations, orphan-born;

As mortal beings, while we breathe we’re fresh

But then we die and turn to dust to mourn.

Yet Jesus came and set the record straight:

He took our sins and on the cross He died;

He died for you and me, both small and great

Returning three days later to abide.

If we have faith in Jesus Christ as King

Believing fast that He’s our Savior dear,

We are adopted by our God to sing

As children bound for Heaven now so near.

By faith in Jesus, God’s our Father now.

By faith we walk like Christ; He’ll show us how.

1-3-15 Believe

Don’t think that some vague hope is good enough

To buy your way to Heaven’s golden shore;

Because you bear conclusions you’ve the stuff

To satisfy the Lord and gain rapport.

You must believe in God until you ache,

Until you know without a doubt He is.

You see Him every moment you’re awake,

You cannot touch a thing that isn’t His.

How can you claim to be a child of God

And wander ’round an orphan in your heart?

Seek him until your eyes are old and flawed,

Until you can’t tell night and day apart.

How can a seeker doubt who does believe?

He’s all around you now; reach out, receive.

But without faith it is impossible to please him:

for he that cometh to God must believe that he is,

and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

11-7-14 I Will Come To You

When Jesus saw the time come for the cross

He spoke to his disciples with great love.

He said that though the world count Him a loss,

He would not leave them orphans when above.

Christ’s done all that He promised as you know:

He sent the Holy Ghost to live within,

He comes to us and stays though others go,

He loves us even though we stray and sin.

Soon Jesus will return for all to see;

He’ll then bring His disciples to His side.

He wants us to save all who want to be;

He loves the world, and this is why He died.

You feel His presence now e’en as you read

He’s in your heart, your mind, your every need.
